As part of the earth, God took pieces of his creation to make first man. Once the body was formed and everything in its place, he gave it a life - the breath of God. Whatever comes out of God's mouth is always good. His word becomes manifest as well as his breath gives life.

A literal translation goes something like this:
So He Who Is Almighty (Yaweh Elohim) molded the red dust from the topsoil, and blew into its face a breath of life, so that the red stuff was a breathing living thing.
The divine name, the one revealed to Moses but used by Adam's grandchildren, means He Who Is. The word "God" is "strong one."
The word for breath is that for wind and spirit. The word for soul can be translated either "life" or "breath." The "living soul" is literally a "living thing that breathes."
There are two words for breath and two words for life, and they are used back and forth here. All the ingredients for a living organism are there - soil, water, and air. The soil was obviously composed of iron (it was red) and also of carbon (though God could have transposed the nitrogen of the into carbon). Nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor, and carbon dioxide, in the air could also be used without "organic" soil! The protein building blocks of the body are made of just four elements (N, O, H, and C), all found in the air. When these are put together with iron rich dust, the Master Potter molds His masterpiece!
In all likelihood, then, the original man was reddish brown. Studies have shown that the melanin necessary for this skin color would contain all the other combinations to allow for everything from albino white to the darkest African (Afri-ca: land of the dust, from the same ancient root!)
Another thing about this creation - it is "in the image" of God. Who is it that is this image but Jesus of Nazareth (see Hebrews 1:3), born of the virgin named Mary (Miriam) in the days of Caesar Augustus? Since the Son of God is eternal - or rather outside of time - should it not be logical that the pattern for the man would be Jesus Himself! I submit that the very genetic makeup of Adam was the same as that of Jesus. And vice versa. See Luke 1:35.
