A Christmas with More

Submitted by scott on 2006-12-27

My new wife and I just returned from the Bahamas on December 22, 2006. We got married on the white sandy beaches and it was beautiful.

Christmas was not in my hands as much as it was in my heart. This year, the commercial, man-made idea of Christmas was not seen by me. It didn't even feel like Christmas this year because we did not put up a tree, we didn't decorate our house, we didn't put up lights and we didn't listen to Christmas music or see any holiday movies. It was time of peace and relaxation... away from the rest of the world.

During this time, I felt closer to God and Lord Jesus because my mind was not clouded with the norm. The true meaning of the day was found and it was more valuable than any gift. The feeling that came upon me when I was in the spirit was the gift.

Friends, let us learn from one another and give thanks to the only thing that truly is - life in Jesus. For all the riches of the world cannot save your soul, nor any amount of good works - only your faithfulness to the almighty.

I wish that every man finds a wonderful new year and that with the new year, he might find new joy and hope that he currently does not have. May the Lord be with you.
