Does God want us to be rich?

The other day I read an article on Time.com regarding whether or not God wants us to be rich or not.
The Father does want us to have everything we need. He also wants us to enjoy our time on earth. However, we first need to examine the types of riches that exist and identify which can be good or bad.
Our hearts decide what is important to us. Whether it be a new house, a fancy car or family. We may not know what our heart truly wants because it is hidden from the truth. Treasure is what is important to you.
The two types of riches are:
1. Earthly Riches
2. Heavenly Riches
Earthly riches surround us. People live for them and people die for them. Some people don't care. We can see and touch earthly riches. They are good to the taste. They make life better for some. Some people live their whole lives to gain everything the world has. It is a race to get it first. They want what I have. I want what they have. This is a sin.
Heavenly riches are stored in a safe deposit box in heaven. This is generally not a big concern for most people because they do not know it's there. Consider a good deed as a piece of gold. Every good thing done adds one more piece to your safe deposit box. The more you have, the more love the Father has for you. If you have treasure in heaven, you are the treasure.
Rich is a big word. It has many meanings. You can be rich with money, with a good job, health and love. Every man knows his own riches. However, if material riches are gained due to the heart's desire, then it not treasure. It is a snare that must be rid of.
If you apply your heart to understanding life, then you will become rich in life and in heaven without even knowing it. For there is no amount of treasure that can compare with the love of the Father. With his love comes happiness, gold, silver and a full belly.
Riches can also be split up by needs and wants. You will always get what you need if you try. Try harder and you will get what you want. But make sure you are working for what is right and ultimately all you will have.
Poor is a sad word. Yet the poor will always be with us and there is nothing we can do for it. We can however give as much as we can so that some may taste of a good deed. The word also says that you reap what you sow. If you work hard, you will reap the benefits, if you are lazy then you will reap nothing.
The choices and future of our lives are up to us. God watches during our trip and gives to those who love him and make the right choices. Satan also gives riches to his servants. We must be aware what treasure is important and gain as much as possible.
