A world of ever changing demands

Submitted by scott on 2006-09-07

Sometimes the need to be needed overwhelms me. With friends and family, with work and play, how do I find time to make everyone happy? Is it my job to do that?

I find myself putting people aside and telling them lies because I don't have time or I'm not feeling up to it. Yet I don't do anything other than the norm. Am I supposed to give myself to everyone's time?

I find myself losing track of the days because they are all so similar. Where does it come together? Am I seeking something other than the day? Am I living for what tomorrow holds? Yet I do not promise tomorrow to anyone?

I feel for the new generation. Where college is required but doesn't provide a future. The world is demanding of us all, yet it doesn't give back to those that live in it. I was told to work hard and you will get what you want. Is this the truth if you are working for something other than the favor of the one and only? I understand that people have to work to survive, but yet there are some who don't and still do? The word says that we should not worry about what we are to eat or wear because the Lord knows that we need it. (Matthew 6:25) And that we shall receive what we need because we are the most precious of all. (Matthew 6:26, Matthew 6:28, Matthew 6:30, Matthew 6:31, ) Everything we want will be ours if we put our priorities in place. (Matthew 6:33)
