In Sickness and in Health

Submitted by scott on 2006-08-15

Why is it that I'm not always with you when things are going good? Why do I take for granted the things you have given me? Yet, when times are bad I come to you?

We think that we are the reason we succeed. A lot of time and hard work will get you anything right? Oh how we cannot understand our ways. The days are long but time goes so quick. How can one not understand who is behind their blessing? Oh father let us understand that we accomplish all things because of you.

Why is it that we will not turn to you until we are sick, poor or depressed? Why do we come to you to mourn but not to glorify? What makes mankind think that we are what drives us? Even though it is clear that your force is what moves us forward into understanding.

In sickness let a friend lend their life. In health, give yours. (Acts 20.35) Oh Father, aren't you with us during both?
